Celebrating Jane Austen’s 200th anniversary
2017 marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen in 1817. My dramatised reading Austensibility will join the celebrations, having been chosen for private readings by Jane Austen Societies in the USA, Canada and Australia, and public performances by drama groups in Oxfordshire, Kent, West Yorkshire and Wales.
October 2013 saw the first performance of "Accommodation Haunted" by Elliot Lake Amateur Theatre Ensemble, Ontario, Canada. The second of their two performances also reached the milestone of a total of one thousand worldwide performances of all my plays.
I've always fancied doing a ghost story... and this is it. I had intended to do something very serious, but it ended up as a comedy for one man and three women, although it does have its darker moments. The simple setting is a small office. The one male character and one of the female characters are major roles who are on stage for most of the play. The other two female roles are smaller, but both have their moments.
